Weekend sports wrap-up

It was an exciting weekend of sports as we had all four teams in action.  The MS Girls volleyball traveled to Marist to face Marist and Osaka.  Unfortunately, they lost both games, but it was a good learning experience for a young team.    The MS boys baseball was at Canadian Academy to play the Falcons.  It was their first game of the year, but they able to win one game while losing one.  It too was a good learning experience as many of the players are first year players. The HS girls volleyball team traveled to Osaka to participate in a volleyball festival.  They faced some good competition and played well.  Even though they lost all three games, each game went to the maximum three sets.  The HS boys volleyball team was at Canadian Academy for a volleyball festival.  They too faced some good competition, but they were able to come out of the day with two wins and one loss.  The one loss was a tough three set match against the home team.

Season Wrap-up

The spring sports seasons came to an end this past weekend.  All 3 of the teams competed in their respective tournaments.

At the HS boys' baseball tournament the team displayed great teamwork and finished in 4th place.  It was a great learning experience for the team as there were many first-year players on the team.  Congratulations to the team for their strong finish.

The MS boys' volleyball team had 2 teams competing in their tournament.  The A team played hard and improved over last year's finish by coming in 4th place.  The B team had a great tournament finishing in 3rd place.  Congratulations to both teams.

The MS girls' softball team displayed great heart and sportsmanship at their tournament.  This season was short for them and they worked hard to play into the A division for the tournament.  There was some strong competition at the tournament and the girls did great by finishing 4th out of 8 teams.  KIUA's Ami Tokuda came away with the individual honor of "Throwing Champion" by winning the tournament throwing contest.  Congratulations to all the girls.
