Dear Parents and Students,

As you are aware, the Kyoto Prefectural Government is in the process of finalizing a request to the government to extend the state of emergency, and it is expected that the state of emergency will continue beyond Monday, May 31.

Therefore, we would like to encourage all families and students to review our school's policies, and to continue to work with a sense of urgency to prevent infections and promote good health.

Please continue to take your child's temperature every morning, and record it on the "Health Check-up Sheet" that you will receive at the end of this month. (If you lose the form, please print it from the link below.

In addition, please help us follow the emergency measures recommended by the Education Division of Kyoto Prefecture (Excerpts from "Requests during the Emergency Measures Period," Kyoto Prefecture, dated May 19):

  • If a student has a fever or other symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, etc.), be sure to take a break from school and consult your family doctor.
  • In principle, students you should stay home for 14 days if a person living with a student is found to be infected and you suspect that there has been close contact between them.
  • Please make it a habit to take your temperature, wash your hands thoroughly, and take care of your physical condition on a daily basis.
  • If you are using public transportation, be sure to wear a mask and do not talk while in the vehicle.
  • Refrain from going out and moving around unnecessarily, including during the daytime, and try to refrain from moving between prefectures unnecessarily.

If the declaration of a state of emergency continues after Monday, May 31, the "2021 - Spring Term SHORTENED School Schedule " will continue to apply.

When the declaration of a state of emergency is lifted KIUA will return to the schedule used at the start of the term.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
